09:30 - Updating the outdated (the new beginning)

Yes it is. the dawn of a new day. the new beginning… last week.

I gotten back my lovely razr hot pink ID Card (cheers) but that was one day later than my original date (gasp), due to the * ups in the army. no issue there thou. it was glowing in my hands and I was glad it came back to where it was suppose to be- in my wallet.

I was not into the festive mood or anything near dancing, drinking and celebrating about it. no.. I am not mad... ORD is suppose to be the happiest day in the life of the average Singaporean guy. but alas, I was besieged by many problems. one after another, bad news came my way. So I was weighing all the negativity and problems everyday.

I just want to take this time to apologise and explain to all my friends and buddies that I am going through a pretty rough time now and sometimes I do not mean to sound dishy and edgy. hang with me and pray for me. and my baby, who has been very strong and added many encouragements and love to me. I am sorry for bring my problems to you and your family. I will work hard and amend.

Luke 12:25 says, Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? I really need to lift everything to God. who else can set the wrong right?

I look forward for the rainbow after the rain. it is down to drizzling as of today.

11:50 - The thoughts of an ORDing personnel

It has finally came to this junction- my last week of service. All my time, all towards this significant day, 28 september.

From the day I gave up my sweet pink Identity Card, which went with two years two months of my life, I was allowed to wrap in a cocoon and live like a cave man with a rifle and a helmet. Life was slow in the green, and much simplified. The green cocoon sheltered me and gave me pay, and slowly parted me with the realities of life.

my last journey was like a fairy tale- blessed with many nice folks, and much to slack about. Serving with people like, Eugene, lc, sam, d2, wushu ivan, robin, joel, jf, hc, ah pek, caijie, Darren and the whole jean-gang, made ns look easy.

I won’t say that I did not enjoy anything during the service. The service, for one thing, changed my perspective of how things should be viewed, and gave me valuable experiences. and friendships.

I had my fair share of memorable experiences along the way, but that will be another post.

Yes. It’s like another parting post, but from the service.

Bye my green cocoon. I’m hatching soon. Freedom! But
into the realties of life..

23:00 - A walk in the CBD

with just under two weeks to civilianship. lc, jf, eugene and myself decided to answer a call in the classifieds and trek into the unknown territory. the almightly Central Business District (awww). filled with OL, black ties and stress people.

we visited the top 4 recruitment agencies, gmp, kelly, recruit, adecco to torlong torlong them to help us find a job. there, we sat in big leathered conference rooms, viewing the entire district, and collected namecards like pokemon cards.

we had our fair share of stress time with a seriously outspoken staff from Kelly Consultant (not to be confused with Kelly Services) who wants us to sign contracts and claims "it's the first step guys.." na. we are not idiots. to top things up, jf decided to bring us to meet his friend to clarify some of the things Kelly told us. and the next thing we know, we have the manager, director and senior director talking to us, the humble ORDing folks. I'm so sure people who walked pass might have thought we are investing some million dollars with them. what a show.

Ole the life of a CBDer. i just want to be a marketer.

someone just set up a company and hire me please....

23:50 - Second interview today

Went for my second interview today.

my previous interview was with Anderson’s Denmark, not as an ice-cream purveyor, mind you, but as a marketing executive.. It was a good interview. Laughs, distinction answers, intelligent talk. i was so highly confident that i would get the job. it was so close. But truth be it. I did not get the job. Amongst the many ‘good’ and ‘great’ the interviewer said while nodding approvingly, there was no employment. Well at least she emailed me to let me know I didn’t get the job. I still think that I lost to some guy/girl with no passion but a piece of paper inprinted with a logo and the word degree.

Today felt the same. Good impression, countless ‘good’ and the same nodding expression. I even told her my little purple levi's book and my ideas for her company. haiz. but what are the chances? alas. spare me...

someone just set up a company and hire me please...

14:15 - Alpha cake

opps. how can i even forget the cake? the cake so huge that no one really wanted to eat, and had to give away to some chap celebrating his birthday on that same day. ya such a cheapo. but even then, there were left overs and it started to grace people's face. what a scene.

16:25 - Photos (ORD Special tribute part 2)

to mark the ending of our service, we had an ORD dinner at safara tampines. probably the "last dinner" for us together.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Me and Caijie. my raft com.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
the only picture that has nearly everyone of us. failed ambush on eugene and the cake.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
raft 3. the slackest as compared but comparable in standards. with Joel as leading raft com. can he meet the slack?

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
and taken from the AHM. at the national stadium. me, jf, lc and ah pek. what are we doing there? carry barricades lah what else!?

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
a great picture. taken by truly. ha.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
national stadium ticket booth. as the stadium will be taken down, lc took this opportunity to take just as much as he can. awww.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
the great old sign.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
lc caught this amazing shot of the night skyline when other people were building barricades. charming and remarkable. i'll give him points for this.

just to continue, the AHM was a success. (it had to be..). it was a great experience. what are the chances of conveying and disrupting traffic on the ECP? never. and did you see my fort road junction and the rotating lights?

04:21 - painful reminder (to law)

Tomorrow is deadline for my Law assignment and I know I should not really be writing this now but I am… let this entry serve as a painful reminder that this is the outcome of doing (my) assignment late.

Probably I should introduce my own law…

"this agreement shall render the writer liable to doing assignments late or last minute studying for exams. Whether such liability arises from negligence or otherwise."

no remedies. only 'damages'. how cheesy.

Oh the thought of torts, express terms, negligence, common law and many papers everywhere scares me. better continue liao..
