16:35 - Another Korean madness

oh man. baby just bought the entire vcd set of Jewel in a Palace. its 50 disc and 70 episode long. oh. this is madness. I will have to be confined to endure this marathon with baby probably until monday earliest. haiz.

the way I see, Korean dramas just seem to have this addictive element that other dramas do not possess. why do Korean dramas appeal le? I personally feel that Koreans write the story in a different light and spend a lot of attention into little details along the show. firstly, the way Koreans act simply rule over the other asian countries. they use a lot of facial expression (sometimes exaggerated expressions) to tell their emotions. do not believe me? go look out for it (like Little Bride). the difference is obvious. secondly, the way Koreans play around with the storyline. an example, a seemingly simple line will slowly evolve and unfold into something you lest expect (like Sassy Girl). thirdly, they drop little unexpected clues or teasers for the audience to catch, sometimes related, mostly not.

all this just makes watching some typical drama more interesting and entertaining.

ho. did I just make sense? I don't know. you be the judge.

12:58 - Kuala Lumpur journey (Part 1)

Da-ta. as promised the exclusive. which only can be found right here at simplejunctionbox. our full journey captured in text and photos. enjoy!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
All smiles on the coach. given the all-assuring I-trust-in-you thumbs up by parents for our first out of the country holiday. (not include Pulau Ubin, Sentosa..) hurray!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
The early morning, our coach took the Tuas Second Link into Malaysia. extend your day by going in early. like us. once we reach, it is just nice for check in and half a day to spend. smart huh.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
always always plan. like how baby's dad would say. sadly, no one on the entire whole world wide web has even got a good map of Kuala Lumpur! go down to your nearest friendly library to find ba.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
always love the greens. unlimited plantations of all sorts fill the sides of the highway. I often wonder do tigers prowl there... with a 5-6hours journey, you either sleep (like baby) or imagine (like me).

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
our lovely room for the stay at Corona Inn. affordable and strategically located...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
and also home to the smallest lift I have ever seen. 240kg max or 6 paxs.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
we dropped the baggage (in hotel) and headed to therapy. retail style at Bukit Bintang. there we conqured the Golden Triangle and spend nothing! and amazing feat for us! the projectbloodbrothers bag I was eyeing was gone as well. my fate with the bag was sealed. em. the only thing we bought were snacks and my Pokka Green Tea! Even in Kuala Lumpur my loyalty still stands... but it is more expensive there la. ouch.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
so after retail therapy, much walking and nothing too buy, our tummy's rumble for the famous food fest in Jalan Alor. we planned and anticipated much for this day... gwahaha. tummy therapy!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
the amazing frog porridge is a must! Oooo. froggie...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
another must is the Portuguese grilled sotong (stall in photo)! Oooo the gravy...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
a snap of the hawker stalls. the whole stretch of Jalan Alor is lined up with food hawkers. come with empty stomachs.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
the big strawberry dessert. an Ooooo for baby. just for your knowledge, those in the photos were not the only things we ate. don't underestimate us. those of you who knows us should know that. haha.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
and finally tuning in after a fun and filled and very bloated day in Kuala Lumpur.

Hang on for our Kuala Lumpur journey (Part 2)

16:43 - Leaving the country

Finally after long last, we are leaving the country ourselves! usually when we leave the country, there has to have someone tagging along. just like guardians. but after baby's begging with her parents, they unwillingly gave the ok. I am really glad they approved, because if they did not, then when? 5 years later? when can I show you trust (that I can make things work and happen) if i do not even have anything to start with. anyway, so now that they have approved, I have anticipated very much advice coming from both sides of parents. which I will heed and follow. our first alone trip out of the country. yes! and thank you for giving me the chance.

08:10 - Jeon Ji Hyun who?

Jeon Ji Hyun who? I uttered under my breath when I was tricked to IMM building. my trickster said, my sassy girl, my sassy girl! I thought, can't be baby right? she could be quite sassy at times... it was not apparently.

Jeon Ji Hyun was the girl who reached deep in everyone's heart with her most amazing performance for the widely acclaimed, award winning, cleverly scripted, My Sassy Girl in 2001. let me deviate. I watched it 3 years after the movie was out, which was long late but I was really glad I did. It touched corners of my heart that other movies did not. I personally nominate this as one of the films that I want to share with my later generations of Lims. (but this I will leave to another post for another day)

Anyway, It was a small simple affair, like mentioned in the papers. but tucked in a corner of level 3 of a low density mall with little publicity bestowed on the press conference? Not a wise decision by the marketing and management. now which Korean star would dare stop by Singapore knowing the reception they will receive next time? Haiz. And like last for less than an hour? Trickster and I left to shop for a moment and when we came back she was gone! And I did not get to buy the things I had in mind at Datsu… argh.

Image hosting by Photobucket
my trickster was so mesmerized by her that he could not even take any good clean picture of her. how clever. these pictures were from the Electric Newpaper.

Image hosting by Photobucket
She's quite all over yesterday's papers and thursday's news, but sadly, where's the fanfare? where are the school children? probably flocking for Kelly Poon or S.H.E...

and yes, let me clarify, baby is my sassy girl. Not Jeon Ji Hyun.

20:50 - A piece of art

This piece of art was found erected upright with the owner of it hiding under the chair. it was actually two different pieces masterfully crafted together. what is it called?

15:21 - Bad boy

I have been living in my own world these few days. talking in a foreign language and pissing baby off. touch it up for her with the all bad time of the month and bad cold, my attention seems to be falling into all except her. ridiculous me. my reckless mouth shoots by itself without much thought. what was I thinking about. probably the fear of what lies ahead frightens me. the worries perhaps. but still...

I owe her an apology.

For the past 5 years, she has always been my centre of attraction. and let me say this, top it up with 15, no, 30, no, 45 years the least, she will always be my focus, my direction and my breathe of life.

15:05 - Rumblings

Oooh. just want to pour out the rumblings for the past two months. what can I do in two months? nothing much you say? ha. hear ye.

just in this two months, I had Bacinet at Jurong Island, and learnt basic driving at low gear, piloted for a hundred Majors for engineer week, then washed comets with minimum strength, comfirmed studies, resolved to save, not to be late, indecisive, lazy, and become a thinker, talk to the minister of defence, attended late Mr Raja's wake service, baby got her class 3 licenses, Joyce became Marketing Manager, took up perfume job, brought My Sassy Girl dvd, write scripts and story plots, ask my mom about chinese marriage customs for baby's sister, but still do not understand, russ pee pee all over my floor, the wedding package incident with baby's second sister and partner, my brother left for Thailand, and surprisingly his partner did not come here at all, my nokia 3120 is repaired all thanks to baby, watched Korean drama Little Bride in two days with baby, had 3 wisdom tooth removed and 1 root canel treatment, and saved over $2,000, found a big spider living in my boots, never bought any designer clothes...

And last but not least, I love you baby!

21:30 - Back from the fast

Hooo. I'm finally back from my two months fast from Blogger. realised that writing in a blog is just an outlet for burst and not really something to hold on to. um. like impulsive writing? well. to actually log on the net and double click on archives just to read on good times? na. not my thing. I am more traditional. brick and mortar.

but why am I back? beats me thou. probably cos I want to share my life moments with everyone? and to let them know that I am happy with them? sort of like to tell them many thanks for the memories, let's do it again another day ya. anyway, I am blessed with nearly everything I can ever ask for. good health, good friends and someone who loves me as much, if not more than I do. so life now comes to the part where I have to work and set goals, priorities and the (adult) list runs deep. oh so stress. but se a vida e (that is the way life is).

Now is the time. so let's run life's long journey together. you will be the judge.
